Case Study / Enterprise Software
Tangramo is a next-generation accounting platform developed by Varico, a Polish business software company with nearly 40 years of experience. As Lead Designer, I shaped the product from concept to implementation — facilitating Design Thinking workshops, defining the brand and visual language, designing the end-to-end user experience, and collaborating closely with engineers to deliver a scalable, developer-ready product.
Scope
brand-new enterprise product — from strategy and branding to a launch-ready platform.

My Role
Lead Designer
I shaped Tangramo from concept to implementation — defining the product vision, brand, visual language, and the end-to-end user experience of the platform.
Responsibilities
Workshop facilitation
Facilitating Design Thinking workshops with senior stakeholders to define vision, positioning, and roadmap.
Brand & identity
Establishing the visual identity, branding, tone of voice, and overall design principles.
End-to-end UI/UX
Designing the complete platform experience, including Light and Dark themes across the entire product.
Design system
Implementing IBM Carbon as the foundation for a scalable, developer-ready enterprise application.
Context
Varico set out to modernise its product offering by launching an entirely new accounting platform capable of evolving alongside its customers. Beyond designing a complex enterprise application, the project required defining the product’s positioning, visual identity, and long-term design strategy from scratch. The platform was conceived as a modular ecosystem where businesses assemble the software around their own requirements and expand it over time — so the design system had to support this growth while maintaining consistency, usability, and a clear enterprise identity.
Modular by design
How might the platform behave like a set of building blocks that businesses assemble around their own needs?
Built to last
How do we communicate stability, reliability, and longevity instead of chasing short-lived visual trends?
Enterprise clarity
How can enterprise-level complexity remain clear, usable, and dependable in everyday work?
One design language
How can the design system stay consistent as new modules keep joining the ecosystem?
Approach
Tangramo was designed around the principle of modularity. Rather than functioning as a fixed accounting package, the platform behaves like a collection of building blocks — and the visual language follows the same logic, favouring solid layouts, restrained colour, and confident typography over short-lived trends.
01
Businesses assemble only the functionality they need and expand the system over time with additional modules.
02
Solid layouts, restrained colour palettes, confident typography, and clear hierarchy.
03
A scalable framework of reusable components, interaction patterns, and developer-ready standards.
04
Both themes designed across the entire product for comfort in any working environment.
05
Production-ready designs delivered and maintained in close collaboration with engineering.
solution
Solution
To support the modular vision, I built the product on the IBM Carbon Design System — a scalable framework of reusable components, consistent interaction patterns, and developer-ready standards. Every part of the interface balances enterprise-level complexity with clarity, so future functionality integrates seamlessly into the existing ecosystem.
Design Thinking Workshops
Facilitated sessions with senior stakeholders that defined the product vision, positioning, and roadmap.
Brand & Visual Identity
A complete identity and design language created to communicate stability, reliability, and longevity.
IBM Carbon Design System
Implemented as the foundation for a scalable enterprise application that grows without losing consistency.
Light & Dark Themes
Designed across the entire product so every module feels comfortable in any environment.
Reusable Components
Modular navigation, interaction patterns, and scalable guidelines that let new modules integrate seamlessly.
Engineering Collaboration
Developer-ready specifications delivered in close collaboration with engineers to keep design quality through implementation.
Marketing Website
Designed and built in Framer with custom 3D animations that reinforce the concept of modularity.

Outcome
A cohesive design system and product ecosystem — software designed to evolve alongside its users.
“A product that feels less like a consumer application and more like professional infrastructure — a tool businesses can rely on every day.”
— The design ambition behind Tangramo
Reflection
Tangramo showed that launching an enterprise product is as much about strategy as it is about design. Design Thinking workshops defined the vision, a new identity gave it a voice, and IBM Carbon gave it a scalable foundation — a flexible ecosystem ready to grow through additional modules. The platform is live at www.tangramo.pl. The live website uses a client-selected logo revision; all other showcased design work reflects my contribution.
